Welcome to second grade everyone!
I am so happy to be back in school after missing the first few weeks due to surgery.
I am 100% better and ready to go.
This afternoon during Mrs. Thorne's guidance lesson TP turned around and gave me this cute smile. Precious. Just one of the many reasons I love my job.
Mrs.
Thorne taught us a hand jive so we now have a new way to meet friends at recess.
It was a lot of fun and we all laughed through it.
MM and CC playing at recess.
LD on the swings.
TH really liked the monkey bars.
I found BC on the rock wall.
In the morning we did one more math assessment. Here is MM using some cubes to add.
KS chose to use a number line to help with his math.
MC was working hard and doing a great job.
Mr.
Schimel made us a special reading table. Now we sit up nice and
straight and get to sit on stools. Ask your child what kind of
french fry I like to eat? Then ask them how that relates to children sitting at the reading table.
BC and B sharing a book during reading.
We worked on
exclamation marks today in reading groups.
Mrs.
Thorne invited everyone, that had a birthday in August or September, to eat lunch with her and share a little birthday cake today. Here are our students that attended.
We wont be having birthday parties during class this year but we will make a really nice birthday magazine for each student close to their birthday. Today I brought in a cake and took photos of everyone for the cover of their magazine.
Then we voted that eating the cake would be better than throwing it away. - smile
Later in the afternoon we went to the
Book Fair.
It will be open at various times for the next week.
Thank you Parents Club for this opportunity.
We had a great day and can't wait to share more of our events with you.
Please share this site with family and friends and I encourage you to leave us a comment. It is a great way to engage us reading.
