String Games
Spelling List Week 11
List 1: go, get, got, give, had, has, here, he
List 2: good, great, getting, goes, heard, help, horse, house, how, hope
List 3: moment, animals, middle, oil, possible, present, listen, winter, deep, carefully
We read a story during reading groups that talked about string games. Here we are trying a few.
We can do through the hand, the star and the broom.
We have wrapped up our study of penguins. This is our finished project.
Now we are studying chickens. This is JM painting the cover of his chicken book.
This is BB finishing her book cover. We will keep a journal of our discoveries as we incubate chicken eggs.
We read about a group of kids that wanted to change the world by doing good deeds for others. We decided we wanted to be "Goodness Gorilla's" too, so we went out and cleaned up around our school. Some of us plan on going home and cleaning up too.

Math
We started today off with a Mad Minute.
Then we played a quick round of math flashcards.
This afternoon we made penguins to scale. This is GB and JS measuring thier rockhopper which is 18 inches tall.
After painting our penguins, we searched for more information about them. We will have them in the hall for you to see when you come to the Pie Social tomorrow night.
This is EB, JB and BW getting information on the yellow eyed penguin. They even got to listen to what one sounds like. That was neat.
Here is GB cutting out the penguin that he and his group made.
HK, TL and DA are working on their Macaroni penguin.
