Egg Hunt

Last week we colored two eggs each and then searched for them in the yard.

We had a great time and everyone found their own eggs.
We put our names on them so we search for only ours. If we see someone elses, we keep right on going.

Then if someone asks for help, then we might provide them with a clue.

Farm To Market

Today we enjoyed learning how our food gets from the farm to our house.

We got to see all the kinds of fruits and vegetables that are grown in our area.
This is a dragon fruit. It does not grow here, but was too neat to skip.
TD got new glasses, so cute! We also got to sample cumquats.

Looking at a map of what region certain products come from.
When we left, they gave us a bag full of great items. We each got a package of seeds to plant at home.

Math Operations & Pizza

Today the 3rd graders had a pizza party for selling the most Pie Social tickets.

We have a new math game. I put up 3 numbers and the students use those numbers to make the magic number using a variety of operations.

Thumb Scanning

Starting tomorrow, we will not have to type in our lunch number when we go through the lunch line. Today we scanned in our thumb print and from now on all we have to do is pass our thumb over this pad. This will get us to the table quicker so we have more time to eat our lunch. What do you think 2nd and 3rd graders? Do you need more time to eat?

Our Writing

We have been writing about some of our personal experiences. Click below to hear our stories.

Leprechaun Visit

After coming into a very messy room, we discovered a treasure hunt.

We had to use the mirror to read the notes.

Each clue sent us to another book. In the book, we collected important words that created a final clue.

We discovered a mess in the yard and knew we had to clean it up.

A few treasures were left behind for us. We found Lucky Charms, gold coins and green jello.

Setting The Trap

With tomorrow being St. Patrick's Day, everyone wanted to make traps to catch a Leprechaun. We also had a great time writing about it. The kids said it was the best way to wrote. Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings.

Picture Day & STAR Reading

Had our group picture taken today and then portraits.
We will send the picture packets home in a few weeks for you to decide if you would like to purchase them. If not, just return the pictures.
The class photo is FREE!
My favorite part of picture taking is watching the kids in the mirrors.

CU was one of the many students that won a book at STAR reading today.
Thank you Parent's Club for your help supplying books.
Mrs. Miltenberger runs Bingo for us to win a book as a reward for meeting our reading goals.
