100th Day Celebration

Our days seem to fly by but we did have a few minutes to write a 100 word story today.
Hi my name is Grandma Madeline here is my story. Today is my 100th year of living and I feel better then ever. I had a really good job as a teacher. I have 100 grandchildren just like my age. When I was little I had 50 brothers and sisters. I had only 3 kids there names were Sally,Joe, and Bob. I got the name Grandma Madeline because I am a grandma and my name was Madeline. My favorite food is cupcakes. I like to read and eat cupcakes. Ilive in Alaska. I love being 100 and old.
I am helping out a bunch of 100 year old people walk, not get into fights, and stand. I liked it better in the navy. I would rather be on a ship than getting trampled by old people. but I do get paid more and some people are really nice. A few are fat and one looks like a zombie while a another one has a very big bottom her name is Mrs. Tooshcaboosh. By Caleb

Today I turn 100.Iv'e had a great life.My carreer was a designer.My legs still hurt from when I fell on needles in the designing area.I still remember designing Debbie Dooly's clothes.Now I just make quilts.I have many elderly friends.I even have a quilting club.I have made 203 quilts so far.Mrs. Tush Cubush is in my quilting club.I also collect rocks, very pretty rocks.I also got surgery on my legs to!Thats another reason my legs hurt.Happy Birthday to me!Bye. Today is my 100th birthday. I look back and see how succesful I was as a Astronot. I was on the rocket with Neil Armstrong. I took a picture that looked like I was spinning earth on my finger. Now I have chest pains. I think it is because I am old. My favorite food is pie. My favorite thing to do is take a good long nap. By Andy
I am Mrs.Old Granny. I got my name because I am old and I'm a granny. I have a pain in my neck because I fell on it. I sometimes have to use a cane because of my neck. My job use to be a marine biologist but I still help out even though I was retired a long time ago. I have 6 children,10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Today I turned 100!!!! My favorite thing to do is sew,nit,cook,and sleep. My favorite food is meat and some other stuff. Well that’s my grandma life.

I feel really differnt than my other years I worked and worked but now I`m relaxed ! I worked at DQ that stands for Dairy Queen it`s a great job to work at also when I was little kid I worked at a farm with crops and other things . I`m still here with myfriends and I love them. My favorite thing to do is be lazy and funny.

Then when I was 50 I joined the air force then I retired at age 80.Then all i did was sit around watching football for 20 years. When I realized that I turned 100 when jacoby jones just ran that 109 yards in the super bowl I still sit around watching foot ball. By Tucker

Minute to Win it Heart Stack
Talk about concentration! Our room was so quiet during this competition. We competed against each other to see who could make the highest stack out of candy hearts. AO was our winner with 13.
Reading Centers
BL is working on her fluency. She has chosen a book and will record herself reading for 2-3 minutes. Then she will listen to her recording as she follows along. Then she will re-read the same passage and see if she can read it a little faster.
AO became an iReporter after he learned some interesting facts in the writing center. He is sharing his Videolicious (app) movie with the rest of the class.

Fractions
This week we began working with fractions. To help us learn the vocabulary, we are sitting in the "Numerator" and "Denominator" positions, using the table top as our separator.
The trickiest part so fa,r is remembering that the denomiator tells us how many parts there are in all.
