Scrapbooking Egg Hunt

We finally snuck in a little time to catch up on our photo album scrapbooks.
We worked on our egg hunt pictures. Here BR is cutting out his photo.
KS sharing her page with us. Oh yes, we are wearing our Kufi hats from the other day.
Some of us chose to work with friends as we created our pages.
We are looking forward to Grandparent day this week.
For those of you that are coming, we will eat lunch at 11:20 this Thursday.

Mrs. G Visits About Africa

Last Friday, Mrs. G. came in to share her adventures of Africa with us. She brought in a lot of neat things with her.
These are African porcupine quills. Much larger than what we might see here in America.

We learned the difference between predators and prey. We learned that if our eyes are on the side of your skull, you are a prey. If your eyes are in front of your skull, you are a predator.
This is a skull of a baboon. Look at those teeth.
Mrs. G also brought in some neat horns from different animals.
These are horns from a Oryx.
These are from a Kudu.
You probably know this one.....warthog.
We learned a lot and Mrs. G was an amazing story teller and speaker.
Thank you so much for sharing your experiences with us!

Kente Cloth

We are learning so much about Africa. Today we learned about Kufi hats and Kente cloth.

I loved walking around and seeing everyone helping each other.

Here we are weaving our Kente cloth.
Then we added decorations to them.
Here is JB displaying his work.
Ahhh, everyone is so cute all dressed up.

Egg Hunt

Well as many of you know, I have been gone a lot lately so I have some catching up to do.
On Friday we searched for our eggs that we colored.
We could only find the eggs that had our name on it, so it was a little hard.
KF found the special egg.

We found our eggs on cars, in trees, under pine needles, just about anywhere.
We had a good time looking for our eggs.

Painting Eggs

Mrs. Kinsley painted a special egg today just like in the story, Rechenka's Eggs, that we heard about yesterday. Tomorrow someone will find it and get to keep it.

This is what it looked like when it was all done.
Then we each painted a couple eggs.

I found a new website today that we used to make our new banner.
Reminder to send school pictures back to school or send money for those that you want to keep.
Deadline is April 17th.

Would You Buy This?

We finally made time to make our April calendar. Here are the beginnings of our colored eggs.

During one of our reading groups we learned about gum. It was fascinating to learn about Gum Alley and Mr. Wrigley. We made a few quick commercials to show you the gum we created. Would you buy these kinds of gum?
