Fire Safety

Thursday we had three firemen teach us about fire safety.
We talked about the importance of smoke alarms...
and how to get low if you are ever in a situation with a fire.
We learned to feel the door before we open it.
If the door is hot or there is smoke on the other side of the door, we should climb out our window like FA is doing here.
We also learned that we should have a family meeting place.
Today, we met by the mailbox.
We hope that we are never near a fire, but if we are, we will know how to get out safely.
This is Jimmy. He fights forest fires. He talked to us about matches and how they are not a toy and that if we play with them, they will take (burn) our stuff away from us.
His is a talented artist. He was able to incorporate his drawing into a story to help us understand how a fire affects our friends in the wild.
Thank you for helping us learn how to stay safe!
