So Much to Catch Up On

I have so much to catch you up on. Go get a fresh cup of coffee and pull up a comfy seat, this is going to take awhile.
First off, we have a play to share with you. We will have three groups perform one time each on Tuesday, June 1st. The play will last about 7 minutes and then we would like to share our African animal videos that we have created. All in all, it will take about 30 minutes. You are invited to come in and watch it in person, or we will also have it online. We will be streaming live video for those of you who are not able to come in. All you will need to do is click on this link at either play time and view it at your computer. Make sure you have sound available.

At 9:30 we will have the play with: TP, TH, AW, MM, SW, ER, JS, and LD

At 1:00 pm we will have the last group of: CR, BC, CK, AW, VS, BU, MM, and LG

Last week we went to the PHS Farm Day. We got to learn about a lot of different things.
Here we are learning how to rope a calf.
We got to see some sheep.

Here we are listening to a young man who is a bull fighter.
We got to see and pet a cow and calf.

They brought in four horses for us to pet and learn about.
This student has learned how to trim the horses hooves and put shoes on.
Then we had to load bus and head back to school.

Cooking with the High School

Last week the Pro Start cooking class from the high school came to cook with us.
We made omelets. First we chopped some green peppers and onion.

Then we put everything we wanted in our omelet into a Ziploc bag.

Next, we cracked two eggs into the bag.

Then we put it in a pot of boiling water to cook. Then we waited about 10 minutes and played cards while we waited for them to cook.
They turned out soooooooo good. Yummm.
Only one casualty. BC's egg missed the bag and landed on his leg and shoe. Ooops!

Do you have 2 minutes to spare? If so, we would love your feedback on this survey.
Thank you,

Africa

My apologies for not keeping up with this blog. We have so much going on, I hope you are visiting the kids blog to stay up with us. Last week we started our study of Africa. We invited pilot Tim Sweek in to help start our journey. Then we watched a short National Geographic video that shows many of Africas fascinating animals. I have updated our upcoming events off to the right.
At this time we only have one date that we will not be at school for lunch. Plan on sending a sack lunch on Thursday, June 3rd because we will be meeting our Pen Pals at McKay Park. More information to come.

Volunteers Needed!
I am looking for 3 volunteers for our Field Day. It is on May 25th from 8:00 to 11:00.
Field Day is when we have all kindergarten through third grade students participate in all kinds of fun events together on the playground. Students are placed on teams and they rotate through each event. Some of the events are: scooters, the limbo, tug o' war, parachute, 3 legged race...
