Our routine is starting to fall into place and I am finally getting to our blog. This is a long post but I didn't want to leave anything out. I hope you enjoy seeing some of the activities we have been doing.
We learned a new game called, Flip It. This is a fun game for the family, see if your child can teach you how to play.
JS is concentrating on his multiplication facts on xtramath . If we don't get to this during the day, it is your child's homework.
We are seeing good improvement already! Keep it up third graders.
The other day we were working with place value. We are learning how to write numbers in the hundred thousands. See if your child can write these big numbers for you. Then write a number and ask them to tell you the value of a certain digit. Example: 142,567, "What is the value of the 2?" (answer: 2,000).
During reading skills each morning, we read from current news articles on from the website Tween Tribune We look for interesting vocabulary words and highlight important information we want to discuss.
Another way we practice our multiplication facts is by using our expressions. We see how many problems we can complete correctly in 2 minutes. Here we are looking at our results. We are seeing growth and it is exciting!
We work hard to learn new vocabulary words each week. This group is acting out their word, surrounded. They have surrounded this block.
Here HB is TOWERING over RK as she acts out another vocabulary word. Great body language and expression. This group is very animated and I am enjoying them. Makes for a very fun time learning.
