A Very Busy Day

When I went to pick up my class this morning,
I saw this cute art work on our playground slide. In the computer lab this morning we took turns reading our slide shows
to each other. Families are invited to come join us in school on Thursday,
April 12th, to see our slide shows and our plays. I will send a letter
home on Friday to let you know what time your child will perform.
At 9 am we went to the gym. We had so much fun running
over and through the obstacles.

There's a whole lot of action going on!

It is our week to help serve lunch again.
This is JS and AB.

We finished our day by coloring eggs after reading the story,
Rechenka's Eggs, by Patrica Polacco.
It is a wonderful story about a Ukarainian woman who has a special way of
decorating eggs and enjoys the miracle of life.
This is JD putting rubber bands around his egg to make a neat design.
We took turns either working on our eggs or creating the background for our Anansi plays.
This is JS drawing some of the background.

This is SB, SB, RL, and EM putting their eggs in dye.

SA really had fun coloring her eggs.

While the children colored eggs, I did too.
I used a Ukarainian egg kit, (like in Rechenka's Egg) to
color these eggs.
We will hunt all our eggs later this week.
Another great opportunity to write and create a scrapbook page.
One of our first grade classrooms is incubating chicken eggs.
There are 17 eggs. If they hatch, they need a home.
If you are interested in adopting these chicks, please
call me at 966-3012.
Expected arrival is in 2 weeks.
They will graduate from McKay, and need a home, sometime in May.
