Gingerbread Houses

We completed our giraffe art this week and have them on display in the hallway. I think they are my newest favorite.

At the end of the day we decorated our gingerbread houses.
Here is MC with fun written all over his face.
New village of gingerbread houses.

Some of us completed our November reading goal and were invited to make these cute crafts with Mrs. Miltenberger.
My helpers getting the candy ready for decorating.
Had great help making the cement icing for assembling our gingerbread houses.
Hope your holidays are bright, see you next year.

Funny Faces EBook

Here is our latest EBook. We have asked our 3rd grade Google Buddies in LaGrande to score our writing. This is a sample of our very best writing that we can do on our own. We are trying hard to use the following skills:
1. Start sentences with capital letters.
2. Correctly use punctuation
3. Accurate spelling
4. Organize using paragraphs
5. Write in a way that keeps our readers interested

Alligators and Snowflakes

DW taught us how to make snowflakes.

They turned out really awesome and look like real snowflakes.

Mrs. Thorne brought a game that had little alligator heads that was called Alligator Swamp.

It helped us with impulse control. We couldn't talk or get up to tell the person how to finish the maze. If we moved the right way, Mrs. Thorne would say, "ding". If we moved the wrong way, she would say, "Rrrrahhhh". That means the alligator woke up and found us on their heads. Yikes!

New Fun Math

Here we are heading to the Vert for our Christmas Program. The program was exciting because we did good and there were lots of people in the audience.
Today the 3rd graders learned how to use a calculator to check our work.

The 2nd graders learned a new skill in math.

It is called borrowing. We used this website.

Christmas Program

Our Christmas Program is coming soon.

It is on Wednesday, December 7th at 1:00pm at the Vert Auditorium downtown.

We will travel by bus and return to school after the program.
We hope you can attend. We had dress rehearsal today and we did great!

Please come see us perform!

Everyday our janitor, Susan, comes in our room and leaves us a design on our carpet after she vacuums it. This morning we figured out it was a picture of a letter to Santa. This is what it looked like today.

Work This Week

We started a new writing project today using the 4 square model again. This time we are using "Christmas" as our topic. Tomorrow we are going to evaluate our writing using our rubrics.

Yesterday we started a new art project. It is a drawing of a giraffe. The background will have an abstract background. We will show you pictures later when we start adding color.

We played a special game at P.E. and it is called, "Wizards, Giants, and Elves". The elves can get the wizards powers. The wizard can blast the giant out of the universe. The Giants can crush the elves because they are so small.

What do you want for Christmas?

How do you decorate your Christmas tree?

What color are your tree lights this year?

What is your favorite Christmas tradition?
